Simon S. Price is the Head of Family & Health Takaful at Salama. He is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and the performance these key business lines. He has extensive management, financial and commercial experience in the insurance sector with over 23 years’ experience in markets across Europe, Middle East and Asia.

Simon has held a variety of leadership roles ranging from CEO, CFO, Head of Strategy, M&A to Digital Transformation. Prior to joining the Salama he was the CEO of the DIFC Insurance Association leading the insurance community in the DIFC and driving activity in ESG and diversity.

Ahmed Eissa is CEO of EG Insurtech. He holds a BSc in Computer Science from Cairo University and has received his executive education from a number of international institutions including the American University and Harvard Business School. Lilia brings a wealth of experience, with over 18 years in the insurance industry and has extensive business development and management experience due to the variety of roles she has worked in.

Lilia joined MetLife in 2019 as Head of Multinational Client Relationships Team with the purpose of managing and retaining the strategic global customers in the Gulf, after acting as Head of Sales Western Europe with MAXIS GBN (MetLife and AXA Joint-Venture).

Lilia held many senior roles including responsibility for Business Development in the Middle East and Africa , Global Underwriting with a focus on Middle East and Mediterranean markets and Marine, Yacht & P&C Underwriting for respectively MAXIS in the UK & France and AIG in Italy.

Sebastian Fuchs is the Managing Director of Digital Products and Services at Auto Data Middle East and is an influential figure in the automotive data services industry, championing the integration of technology and customer-centric strategies. He is responsible for the strategic development and execution of initiatives that will steer Auto Data Middle East towards a multi-million-dollar growth strategy within the GCC region and North America.

As Managing Director, Fuchs also leads World Automotive Group Digital Products and Services (WAGDPS), WAG’s arm for Digital Products and Services encompassing a portfolio of companies including Auto Data Middle East, Gulfcars.ae, and Vicimus. Fuchs spearheads WAGDPS overall organisational expansion and enhances its financial performance, customer satisfaction, and employee development across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and internationally. He is bolstering business operations with significant technological advancements including augmented and mixed reality. Fuchs joined Auto Data Middle East in 2023, playing an integral part in the company's expansion across the UAE, KSA, and Oman. With over 20 years of experience in the automotive software and service sector, Fuchs’ career began in Europe, specialising in the used car business and related strategies such as risk management, fostering customer satisfaction, and augmenting stable residual values.  

In 2018, Fuchs was at the helm of Manheim and RMS Continental Europe – Cox Automotive, managing a team of over 400 employees. His strategic leadership was instrumental in adapting the companies’ business models, culminating in the successful launch of Manheim Express, a pioneering digital auction marketplace in Germany. Before this, Fuchs made significant advancements in RMS Automotive's SaaS sales approach, substantially enhancing the company's market presence. Fuchs' groundbreaking work in the automotive data service sector was exemplified in 2013 when he pioneered the Global OEM Used Car Platform B2B2C for Volvo Cars.

A reputed leader in the automotive software and services sector, Fuchs also led the Europcar International team in France as the International Fleet Remarketing Manager. During his tenure, he implemented a remarketing strategy and oversaw the sale of over 50,000 vehicles across Europe and Australia. In 2007, Fuchs was appointed as the European Fleet Remarketing Manager by Hyundai Motor Europe. Fuchs established and led a team of 30 strong to manage fleet and remarketing operations across German-speaking markets and the Netherlands, resulting in the successful launch of OEM Used Car Schemes for the South Korean automotive leader. This was succeeded by Fuchs’ strategic foresight which resulted in the development and implementation of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Germany’s used car schemes launch.

His commitment to his field is equal only to his passion for philanthropy, most notably his support for Hoffnunksfunke.ev - a children’s orphanage in Thailand. As a Manager at Takaful Emarat-Insurance, with over 15 years of experience in the life insurance/takaful industry, my focus lies in product development, underwriting, and operations. Holding a FLMI credential from the Life Office Management Association underscores knowledge and proficiency in this domain.

Specializing in developing both traditional and digital products, underwriting individual and group life policies, and managing bancassurance and branch operations, successfully led digital business transformation initiatives and overseen process flows, agreements, and reinsurance.

Junaid heads the Partnerships Division in Watania Takaful. Junaid has been part of Takaful industry in UAE since 2008. He is an expert in product structuring, process setup and distribution of Individual Life and Personal Lines business. Junaid has been managing distribution of retail business via banks, brokers, aggregators and on ‘direct to consumer’ basis for Watania (formerly Noor Takaful). In addition to this Junaid also manages commercial business requirements of Large Corporates and Banks.

Junaid has over 24 years of experience in Insurance/Takaful business in Pakistan and UAE. Before joining Watania Takaful in 2014, Junaid was part of another Takaful Company in UAE for 5 years and has been heading Bancassurance & Broker Distribution.
Junaid, is an MBA (major in Islamic Finance) with Insurance qualifications of FLMI.

Khalid started his career in Insurance with AIG as a Personal Lines Portfolio Analyst for the MENA region. Thereafter, he joined Arab Loss Adjusters Group as an Operations Manager and Loss Adjuster, primarily responsible with the expansion strategy that encompassed 7 new geographical territories spanning across the MENA region and thereafter the Far East.

Throughout his tenure, he developed his claim handling capability across the various disciplines including but not limited to Property, Financial Lines, Crisis Management, Speciality classes of business.

Currently, Khalid assumes the role of Group CEO at ALA Group, overseeing the Group’s overall strategy as the entity transitions into the second cycle including adopting technological transformation, introducing parallel classes of business whilst ensuring core Property and Casualty classes of business remain at the forefront.

Khalid continues to pursue professional qualifications through the Institutes of America, the Australian Institute of Loss Adjusters and is a member of the International Institute of Loss Adjusters.

Walter Jopp is the Chief Executive Officer of SALAMA – Islamic Arab Insurance Co (P.S.C).
With 25 years of global market experience, Walter is a proven leader in strategy, market development and distribution. In his role as CEO of the largest Takaful insurer in the UAE, Walter works closely with SALAMA’s Board and the rest of the executive team to steer SALAMA’s growth ambitions and plans to leverage its position as the market leader in the Takaful sector.
Walter has a strong track record of spearheading digital transformation initiatives and is a key contributor to SALAMA’s ongoing digital transformation and strategic growth plans. In addition, his proven skills in improving operational efficiencies and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners support the company’s ongoing growth and ambitions as a leader in the UAE Takaful industry for over 43 years.
Walter has a deep understanding of the Middle East market from his previous role as CEO of Middle East at Zurich International Life, where he led and managed operations, furthered digitization strategies and grew profitability. Furthermore, he brings significant international and emerging market experience to his current role through his stints in the United Kingdom, Asia, Latin America and Scandinavia.

Based in Dubai, Jérôme Droesch is the Chief Executive Officer of Domestic Health and Health Services for International Health, Cigna Healthcare.
He is also the Board Member for Cigna’s operations in India and Australia, and Chairman of Cigna Insurance Management Services Board in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

He is responsible for advancing Cigna’s Domestic Health portfolio and Health Services propositions, as the premier provider of both health and wellness insurance services to individuals, groups and government entities, for all of Cigna’s International Health business (all businesses outside the United States).

In addition, Jerome spearheads the growth of the Health Services’ business across Cigna’s international markets, where he is tasked with revolutionizing healthcare and the implementation of highlevel strategies for ensuring the long-term profitable growth of the organization.

Jerome is passionate about making quality healthcare accessible to a wider section of the population. To champion this vision, Jerome also leads Cigna’s International Health’s Strategy and Innovation functions.

Prior to joining Cigna Healthcare, Jérôme was with AXA Group in an illustrious career spanning over 30 years, where he held various management positions across multiple geographies and business.

Jérôme has a Masters in Engineering from Ecole Centrale, a Masters in Wealth Management from the SKEMA Business School, and has completed his further management studies from INSEAD.

• Ayman has contributed to the development of the insurance sector through chairing several professional committees in various countries, and as a part time instructor at the American University of Beirut for 12 years.
• Ayman holds a Bachelor and Master Degree in Business Administration from the American University of Beirut since 1984 and 1988 respectively.
• He is an Associate of the Charted Insurance Institute in London (ACII) and holds the designation Chartered Insurer.
• He is also a sworn expert at the Lebanese courts.

Omar is the Senior Executive Officer (SEO) of Marsh Management Services (MMS), which is Marsh’s Specialty & Reinsurance Placement Hub in the Middle East & Africa (MEA) region and Head of Bowring Marsh in MENA. As SEO his responsibilities include management of the DIFC operations, Profit & Loss management, engagement with clients and regional/international reinsurance markets and global placement hubs.

Omar joined Marsh in 2006 in the Risk Analyst graduate training program in Marsh’s Houston, TX office in the Energy Practice. While in Houston, he worked on Business Planning and with the Downstream Energy Property Team servicing team on many major accounts in North America. In 2007, Omar was relocated to Dubai with the Energy Practice. This was to be part of the team that would established the regional Energy Insurance business based in Dubai. His responsibilities included the management of some of the largest regional Energy and Construction Business client relationships and overall servicing for these clients.

In 2015 Omar relocated to Cairo, Egypt and was the CEO of Marsh Egypt & Jordan. His responsibilities included the management of Marsh’s operations, profit & loss management, client management and firm’s engagement with the Egyptian and Jordanian insurance markets.

Omar holds a Bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA and currently is pursuing a Master’s degree from Columbia University in New York, NY

Vasilis Katsipis is based in Dubai and is General Manager, Market Development of A.M. Best for MENA, South & Central Asia.

He has been with A.M. Best for the last twelve years, having joined the company in London as a managing senior financial analyst and growing to the position of general manager, analytics for EMEA. He has written several pieces focusing on insurance and regulation in Europe and the MENA region and has participated in international bodies focused on establishing global standards for insurance.

Prior to joining A.M. Best Vasilis was responsible for alternative distribution channels for GE Insurance Solutions. He has over 20 years of insurance and reinsurance experience, having focused on both the life and non-life sectors. He has held roles in high level operational and strategic positions. For most of his career, he has held international positions with either regional or global responsibilities.

Vasilis holds an MBA from University of Wales and a BSc in economics from Piraeus University.
